A Property Manager job involves overseeing the daily operations, financial health, and tenant satisfaction for residential or commercial properties, handling everything from advertising vacancies, screening tenants, collecting rent, managing maintenance, resolving issues, enforcing leases, managing budgets, reporting to owners, and ensuring legal compliance, acting as the main link between property owners and renters to maximize property value and owner returns.

Key Responsibilities


Tenant Management: Finding tenants, screening applicants, negotiating leases, collecting rent/deposits, handling complaints, and managing renewals/evictions.


Financial Management: Setting rental rates, managing budgets, tracking expenses, paying bills (mortgage, taxes, insurance), and preparing financial reports.


Property Maintenance: Scheduling repairs, overseeing vendors (landscapers, cleaners), inspecting properties, and planning renovations.



Marketing & Leasing: Advertising vacancies, showing properties, and attracting quality renters.

Legal Compliance: Ensuring adherence to landlord-tenant laws, lease terms, and safety regulations.


Owner Relations: Serving as the owner's representative, providing regular updates, and working towards financial goals.

Essential Skills & Qualifications


Skills: Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, customer service, negotiation, time management, and financial acumen.


Knowledge: Landlord-tenant laws, property management software, market trends.


Education/Certifications: Often a bachelor’s degree is preferred; certifications like CPM or RPA are beneficial.
